Sean Hostert, CFA

Strategic Advisor and Head of Research

Sean Hostert is a Strategic Advisor and Head of Research at Colterpoint. He is also the Founder and Author of the Net Lease Observer, a research periodical dedicated to the single tenant net lease ecosystem, and host of the Net Lease Observer Podcast where he discusses finance, commercial real estate, and net lease with executives across the sector.

Prior to his current roles, Sean served as Head of Investments for Trio Investment Group, a private equity real estate fund manager focused on middle market sale/leaseback investments. He sat on the investment committee and led the firm’s efforts around sourcing, underwriting, acquisitions, and dispositions completing over $250 million in transactions. Trio was acquired by J.P. Morgan Asset Management in December 2023.

Before joining Trio, Sean spent three years at Broadstone Net Lease (NYSE: BNL) where he served as Vice President Acquisitions responsible for sourcing and acquiring net lease real estate across the U.S. He also served five years at VEREIT (NYSE: VER) across various investment and financial analysis roles and began his career as an advisory and assurance professional at PwC. Sean earned both a B.S. in Finance and B.S. in Accountancy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a CFA® charterholder.
